Doncaster blue bin: what changed in April 2025
City of Doncaster Council expanded the waste collection Doncaster blue bin from 1 April 2025. The doncaster bin collection blue recycling bin now accepts a wider range of materials as part of the UK Simpler Recycling initiative.
New from April 2025 in the Doncaster blue bin: liquid cartons (milk, fruit juice), plastic pots such as yoghurt and dessert pots, plastic tubs such as ice cream and margarine containers, and plastic trays used for meat, fruit and vegetables, as long as they are empty, clean and dry. All materials must be clean, loose and dry with no plastic bags inside the bin.
New from 2026: household batteries and vapes can be placed in a clear bag on top of the blue bin for kerbside collection as part of your regular doncaster council bin collection day.
