How to report a missed bin collection in Hillingdon

Before you report: Hillingdon Council will not accept a missed collection report until after 1.30pm on your collection day. Crews can collect up to that time. You must also report within 72 hours of the missed collection. If your bins were not out on time or were contaminated, they will not be collected and you cannot report a missed collection.

  1. Check your bins were presented correctly. Bags and bins must be at the front of your property by 7am (or 6am for food waste caddies). If they were not out on time, this counts as a failure to present, not a missed collection.
  2. Wait until after 1.30pm. Hillingdon waste collection vehicles operate until early afternoon. Do not report before 1.30pm on your collection day.
  3. Visit the Hillingdon Council missed collection form. Go to hillingdon.gov.uk missed waste collection and complete the online form.
  4. Enter your address and collection details. Select the type of bin missed: rubbish, dry mixed recycling, garden waste or food waste caddy.
  5. Submit and note your reference. Hillingdon Council will aim to return and make the collection within 3 working days. Keep your bins accessible.
