Before you report: Exeter City Council will not reattempt a collection if your bin was not presented correctly. Bins must be out by from 6pm the night before, no later than 6am on collection day, lid closed, correct waste inside, and accessible from the pavement. Check these before submitting a report.
- Check your bin was presented correctly. Bin must be at the boundary of your property, accessible from the pavement, lid fully closed, and the correct waste inside. If any of these were not met, wait for your next exeter bin collection day.
- Confirm the crew has visited your road. Do not report until you are sure the collection crew has already been to your street and missed your bin specifically.
- Report online within by midnight on the next working day. Go to exeter.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/bin-collections/report-a-missed-bin and complete the missed collection form with your address and bin type.
- Leave your bin out. Keep it at the front of your property after reporting. Exeter City Council will return within as soon as possible.

- Bin not out on time: Must be at the boundary by from 6pm the night before, no later than 6am on collection day. If not, no reattempt. Wait for your next exeter bin collection day.
- Contaminated bin: Wrong items means no collection. Remove contaminants and present on your next collection day.
- Lid not closed: Bin must have lid fully closed. Overfilled bins will not be collected.
- Side waste: Only the bin contents will be collected. No excess waste beside the bin.
- Bank holidays: Collections may shift. Check Exeter City Council website for revised dates.
